The outrageous images of war portrayed by the media make one wonder about the absurdity of the world in which we live.
Even more surreal is that many young boys are socialized to play with plastic toy soldiers and play make-believe war games - as if this is the normal state of things and a part of the “right” way to teach them how to be boys, and later, men.
These figurines were inspired by the shocking front page media images displayed the day after a terror attack.
They are all handmade, carved out of ordinary toy soldiers, with the addition of 3D printing parts and jewelry wax.
This project reflects what I have to say about conflicts/kids/education, and what’s in between. Please don’t take it too seriously.
